Bob Began Practicing Aikido in 1991 under the Kai Shin Kai Organisation. However it wasn't until 1994, after attending a seminar with the late Morihiro Saito Sensei 9th Dan, that he began to follow the Iwama-Ryu style of Aikido.

In 1999 Bob spent time training at the Iwama Dojo in Japan as a Deshi (live in student) under the direct instruction of the late Morihiro Saito Sensei 9th Dan.

Bob has attended a number of courses in the UK and abroad training under teachers such as Bill Witt 7th Dan, Hoa Newens 6th Dan and Hitohiro Saito Sensei 6th Dan. Bob also makes regular trips to the Koriana Dojo in Greece where he's trains as a Deshi (live in student) under the direct instruction of Sensei Tony sargeant 6th Dan.

Bob obtained the rank of shodan in 2002 and in 2005 was awarded his Nidan by Sensei Tony Sargeant 6th Dan.

Bob is currently Chief instructor of the Jersey Aikido Club and teachers a class on Monday evening from 7:30pm - 9:00pm.
