Class Requirements
Students who have trained at the Dojo before, are very welcome to return. They only have to bear in mind that their insurance may have expired, and that they will have to rejoin Iwama Ryu GB.

Medical
All students must notify their instructor and their training partners if they suffer from any medical conditions which may affect their training.

Students should not train against the advice of a medical practitioner, or if they are taking medication which may affect their concentration or co-ordination.

Under no circumstances will students be allowed to train if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Clothing
Students at beginners classes, who do not possess a Dogi (martial arts suit), are asked to wear loose clothing such as a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms.

Please do not wear any jewellery, and please ensure that finger and toe nails are kept short. Long nails can injure other students and damage the tatami (training mat).

Please also try to ensure that long hair is tied back, for your own comfort and that of your fellow students.

Start Time
Students are urged to arrive at classes at least 15 minutes before the start time. This will enable them to spend time stretching and warming up before the class commences.

Membership

After a student's first class, and if they wish to continue they are required to join Iwama Ryu GB which provides annual insurance. For details of membership cost and benefits, please contact us.
